Lifeline is an N.F.P support organisation. They receive over 1 million contacts a year, and on October 7 ‘24 alone, they received 4,405. Unfortunately, recent years have seen a significant increase in requests to chat with Lifeline. It saddens me to recognise that so many of us are burdened by such great adversities. But I'm thankful that a growing amount of Australians are open to speaking up about their hardships, and find help. Alas, emotional support isn't easy, it takes a remarkably gifted and empathetic person to take on that role. And regrettably, that's a circumstance that I can't aid. But I can sympathise. Which is why I'm riding the Bobbo 80km on an '80s BMX. Hopefully that way, I too can bring smiles to others, and perhaps, also show them that where they are in that moment really isn't so bad after all.
