My Story
Six months ago I bought my first road bike and Lycra outfit as a late joiner of the MAMIL club (Middle aged men in Lycra). Having only ridden a bike about 10 times in the previous 30 years, I've set myself a goal of completing the 104km Bobbin Head Classic charity fundraising ride at the end of March. Done lots of training and fallen off a few times (I'm getting used to having my shoes attached to the pedals...) but it's still going to be a solid 5 hours of riding up and down hills.
I’ve decided to raise much-needed funds to support Lifeline. Their counsellors provide a vital service for people trying to manage grief, addiction, abuse and in many cases suicide prevention – and I want to give them my support. They receive over a million contacts a year and each phone call costs a little over $25. So how many calls could you afford to fund?
Please help as many people in crisis as possible by helping me reach my fundraising target.
Thank you so much for your support.
